Community Forums Program

For period of 18 Months, starting from September 2008
Accordingly the background in implementing development projects based on participative approach, ZORS “Alka” has been selected as an implementing organisation to participate in the second batch of the Community Forums Program, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The goal of the Community Forums Program is to provide support to decentralization process and facilitate citizen participation in local community development. This program represents a development platform that enables 1) citizens to improve their life with their own ideas and participation and 2) the administration to develop local governance through participation, accountability and trust.
It is expected to begin with implementation in September when the Program Board will select the municipalities to be included in the program.
Besides ZORS “Alka” the program is implemented by the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia (FOSIM), the Center for Institutional Development (CIRa), Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI), and coordinated through the Forum Coordination Unit/Consulting for Strategic Development.
Program budget is ~33.000 EURO
