Study visit of the Project partners, on the SEEU, Municipality of Tetovo and Gostivar and respective municipal institutions, June 15-16 2011
During the study visit days, representatives from Municipality of Elbasan, University “Aleksander Xhuvani” - Faculty of Education, representative of Tregan commune and representative from TJETER VIZION and ALKA visited the respective partners from Macedonian side.
The study visit starts with SEEU - South East European University.
An introduction meeting at highest University level was, held with the rector of the University Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, and his team of professors. During the session, discussions were focused on the importance of the networking between educational institutions with aim to bring people together trough education, despite their differences and barriers and specifically present the role of the education and culture in this approach.
Visit continued at the Faculty for Public Administration and Political Sciences were professors of the departments from both Universities exchanged experiences regarding curricula, undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and discussed points of future cooperation between departments.
Then the delegation had tour at the SEEU campus looking at the facilities, amphitheatres and library.
In Municipality of Tetovo guests from the Albanian side were greeted by the Secretary of the Municipality Ms. Drita Memeti. At the meeting experiences were exchanged in providing services for the citizens in both municipalities, Tetovo and Elbasan.
As well participants have had presentation of the main tasks and competence of the municipal administration, with focus on local economy development and providing social services.
The visit of the city of Tetovo continued with walk through the old town artisan and handicraft street and ended with the sightseeing of two facilities of historical importance and cultural heritage, the Coloured Mosque and Arabati Baba Teqe complex.
During the visit of Municipality of Gostivar, project partners were welcomed by the Chairman of the Municipal council Mr. Fadil Zendeli.
At the municipal hall a presentation of the best practices in local development with citizens involvement was made for the partners. As well the municipal local action plan for individuals with special needs was presented.
Project partners used the opportunity to exchange experience on the presented topics.
The study visit of the partners from Albania and meetings held in each of the partner institutions from Macedonia enabled them to learn and know more on the best practices applied by the each respective partner and made important step forward in partnership strengthening and experience exchange trough practicing of the “institution to institution” and “people to people” approach.
