Forums in the community – Makedonski Brod
Based on the experience so far in the implementation of development programs applying the participation principal, the Center for sustainable development “ALKA” has been selected as the implementation organization to participate in the implementation of the second part of the Program “Forums in the community”, financed by the Swiss agency for development cooperation (CDS).
The goal of the Program “Forums in the community” is to support the process of decentralization and to enable the participation of citizens in the development of the community at a local level. Applying the forum approach, this program represents a platform for development providing for (1) the citizens to improve their life with their own ideas and participation and (2) the administration to develop local management through participation, responsibility and trust.
The implementation of program activities is expected to begin in September, when the municipalities involved in the program shall be selected.
Besides CSD ALKA, the program is also implemented by the Foundation Open Society – Makedonija (FIOOM), Center for institutional development (CIRA), Macedonian center for international cooperation (MCMS) and the Association for democratic initiatives (ADI), coordinated by the Unit for forum coordination / Strategic development consultancy.
