Program “Forums in the community”

For a period of 18 months starting September 2008
Based on experience so far in the implementation of development programs with the application of the participation approach, ASDC “Alka” has been selected as an implementation organization that shall participate in the implementation of the second part of the Program “Forums in the community”, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)
The objective of the program “Forums in the community” is to support the decentralization process and to enable participation of the citizens in the development of the community on a local level. Because of the application of the forum approach, this program represents a development platform providing for (1) the citizens to improve their life with their own ideas and participation and (2) the administration to develop local governance through participation, responsibility and trust.
The implementation of the program activities is expected to begin in September when the selection of the municipalities that shall be involved in the program shall take place.
Besides ASDC “Alka”, the program is also being implemented by the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia (FOSIM), the Center for institutional development (CID), The Macedonian center for international collaboration (MCIC) and the Association for democratic initiatives (ADI), coordinated by the Forum coordination unit/Strategic development consulting.
The budget is 33.000EUR
